A project of Malankara Orthodox Church-in Damascos –Kothamangalam an ancient very important centre of Syrian Christians. This Charitable project of Malankara Orthodox Church has achieved appreciation and encouragement of the public. His Holiness Catholica Bava loves to call this institution as a “Prakasha Gopuram” of the church .

Welcome to Santwanam Special School

To perform acts of charity for those in need, to establish, set up, maintain, assist, finance a special school and training centre for the relief, help, development of retarded, mentally, physically or otherwise children and for performing such other charity acts as per the directions of H.B. Poulose Mar Milithious Catholicos designate and assistant Metropolitan of Angamaly Diocese a Charitable society was registered on 27th August 2008 with the name "Mar Baselious Augen Charitable Foundation(Reg.No.ER 495/08)". This Charitable Foundation is named after the sacred name of His Holiness Moran Mar Baselious Augen I, Catholicose and Malankara Metrapolitan(1964-1975).The Foundation is a project of Angamaly Diocese of Malankara Orthodox Church.
Santwanam Special School was inagurated on 30th June 2008. Classes started functioning on 1st July 2008 in Mar Baselious Orthodox Church Buildings, Damascos, Block office road, Kothamangalam.Now there are 69 students of age group 5 to 40 in five classes. Santwanam Special School is recognized by the Government of Kerala-Recognition Reg.No: 711/2012.
